Awards Subcommittee
This committee will be responsible for setting policies and procedures as well as collecting nominations and deciding winners for the following awards.
- Technical Contributions and Leadership Achievement Award
- Past winners are expected to play a major role in the selection of this award.
- Service Awards
- Define a process for nominating and choosing Best Paper Awards that is consistent from year to year.
Conference Affairs Subcommittee
This committee will be responsible for setting and documenting appropriate policies and procedures as well as making recommendations on an ongoing basis for the various items listed below. Rationale for policies should be captured where possible.
- Define the roles and responsibilities of General and Program Chairs so that there is a smooth transition from year to year, while maintaining the high quality of our conferences.
- Define the roles and responsibilities of Track Chairs, and their relationship with the Program Chairs.
- Define a process for the proposal and acceptance of workshops and tutorials at TCRTS sponsored conferences.
- Define a process for soliciting exhibits and demos for TCRTS-sponsored conferences.
- Define a process for hosting and promoting competitions at TCRTS-sponsored conferences.
- Define general guidelines for registrations and travel stipends to TCRTS-sponsored conferences (to be coordinated with Finance Chairs of conferences).
Planning Subcommittee
This committee will focus on longer-term trends and make recommendations to sustain the health and vitality of TCRTS-sponsored conferences.
- Identify and help grow candidates for Program Chairs.
- Identify candidates for keynote talks.
- Recommend or deny co-locations with other conferences on a regular or an occasional basis.
- Define/refine a future vision and directions for TCRTS-sponsored conferences. Incremental or dramatic recommendations may be offered. In a globally competitive environment, with constantly changing technologies, some new areas may be emphasized and some old areas may be de-emphasized.
- Identify areas of interest that could become tracks at TCRTS-sponsored conferences.
- Keep track of attendee count, classes of participants (academia/industry/government, student, etc.), repeat vs. new attendees, and any emerging trends. Coordinate with Finance and Registration Chairs to obtain all relevant information.
Relations Subcommittee
This committee will seek to promote TCRTS-sponsored conferences and its responsibilities will include the following:
- Obtain sponsorships from both companies and governmental agencies.
- Even small contributions can add up and can be used to subsidize registration fees, offer new awards, give student travel awards, and provide honorariums.
- Recommend and implement ways to expand TCRTS membership.
- Identify ways to target greater participation/attendance from industry.
- Generate regular “newsletters” for online dissemination.
- Recommend content for TCRTS website.
- Website will be updated and maintained by TCRTS Webmaster.
