The professor position opened is intended to complement and strengthen the existing research expertise in the Computer Science and Communication Research Unit (CSC) of the Faculty of Science, Technology and Communication at the University of Luxembourg.
We welcome candidates with an excellent research record in Software and Systems, focusing on real-time & embedded systems engineering. The research encompasses the software dimension while being aware of the hardware layer (or the other way round). Furthermore the candidate should be knowledgeable in the following research areas currently covered by the research unit: fault tolerance, distributed frameworks and infrastructures, automated testing, formal verification, model driven engineering and development methodologies.

Prof. Insup Lee, recipient of the IEEE TCRTS Technical Achievement and Leadership Award for 2008, shared his views on the opportunities for real-time systems research in high-confidence medical device software systems. Prof. Lee’s talk is now archived on the TCRTS website.
The 1st IEEE International Workshop on Object/component/service-oriented Real-time Networked Ultra-dependable Systems will be held in Carmona (Parador de Carmona), Spain on May 7, 2010. This workshop will be held in conjunction with the 13th IEEE International Symposium on Object/component/service-oriented Real-time distributed computing (ISORC 2010).

The first ACM/IEEE International Conference on Cyber-Physical Systems will be held in Stockholm on April 13 & 14, 2010. This conference is collocated with CPSWeek 2010, and is co-sponsored by the IEEE TCRTS and ACM SIGBED. The call for papers has gone out and the deadline for submission of research articles is December 18, 2009.
The deadline to submit articles for review for RTAS 2010 has been extended. The new deadlines are as follows:
- Core Track — new deadline is October 16 11:59 p.m.
- Tracks A and B — new deadline is October 26 11:59 p.m.
