CFP: OSPERT 2011

7th annual workshop on Operating Systems Platforms for Embedded Real-Time applications
July 5th 2011, Porto, Portugal (held in conjunction with ECRTS 2011)

Call for Papers

Research on innovative RTOS architectures and services is a hot topic. Developers of Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) are faced with many challenges arising from two opposite needs: extreme optimization of resource usage (processor, energy, network bandwidth, etc.) vs. dynamic configuration and upgrading, flexible scheduling, component-based development and deployment, etc. While real-time systems continue to be used in many small embedded applications, real-time services are being introduced and used in general- purpose operating systems. Notable examples are the various flavors Linux that provide support to time-sensitive applications.

This workshop is intended as a forum for researchers and practitioners of RTOS to discuss the recent advances in RTOS technology and the challenges that lie ahead. The workshop will consist of submitted papers as well as invited presentations about academic state-of-the-art and industrial state-of-practice within the area.

Important Dates

Apr 24, 2011: Submission Deadline
May 18, 2011: Acceptance Notification
June 19, 2011: Submission of camera-ready papers
July 5, 2011: Workshop

Call for Participation: CPSWeek 2011

Call for Participation

Cyber-physical Systems Week
Chicago, USA, April 11 – 14 2011
http://cpsweek2011.cs.illinois.edu/

About CPSWeek

Cyber-physical Systems (CPS) are engineered systems whose operations are monitored, coordinated, controlled, and integrated by a computing and communication core embedded in all types of objects and structures in the physical environment. Such systems must be operated safely, dependably, securely, efficiently and in real-time. Advances in this field will have great technical, economic and societal impacts in the near future. CPSWeek brings together leading researchers in this area by collocating five leading conferences dealing with aspects of CPS. Apart from the conferences, CPSWeek involves exciting workshops and tutorials. CPSWeek attendees can benefit from engaging with other participants from diverse backgrounds but sharing a common goal of building next-generation cyber-physical systems.

CFP: GreenCom 2011

Computers, communication systems and other IT infrastructure have been posing severe environmental problems by consuming significant amounts of electricity, increasing greenhouse gas emissions, and causing pollution during their production and disposal. To reduce these environmental problems and create a sustainable environment, new models, algorithms, methodologies, tools and systems are needed so we can generate green IT systems with high energy efficiency, low greenhouse gas omissions, less harmful materials and easily being reused and recycled. The goal of GreenCom 2011 is to provide a forum for scientists, engineers, and researchers to discuss and exchange their new ideas, novel results, work in progress and experiences on all aspects of green computing and communications, as well as to identify emerging research topics and define the future directions.

More information: GreenCom 2011 conference website

Important dates

  • Deadline for submission: March 30, 2011
  • Notification of acceptance: April 30, 2011
